There is No Such Thing as ‘Making It’ in Life

Living life can make you crazy if you let it …

Think about it for a couple of minutes.

Every single day, you are frustrated and worried over this and that and constantly running around the clock, trying desperately to search for salvation.

You can observe this at pretty much all moments of your life. This is true whether you are dealing with getting ready in the morning or ending the day.

There is always going to be work in life no matter what. This goes against what we have at the back of our heads, which goes something like this,

“Once I am done with this task, I will finally be free!”

… Until reality comes along to shatter your fantasy with a little more work that needs to be done.

For example,

  • The laundry basket will accumulate every single day …
  • The rubbish bin will keep accumulating every single day …
  • The bills will keep coming every single month …
  • The inbox will always keep getting flooded …
  • The taxes will need to be done at periodic intervals …
  • The fitness level is going to constantly keep going down …
  • The hunger will keep coming back …
  • The dirt will keep accumulating on your skin …
  • The things in your house will keep breaking down …
  • Well, you get the idea …

In other words … you are always going to have work to do no matter what and will never be free. In fact, you could go so far as to say that ‘being free’ in life is largely a myth and simply DOES NOT EXIST.

Let me repeat that once again …

BECOMING ‘FREE’ IN LIFE DOESN’T EXIST

Of course, it should be added here that the insanity doesn’t really stop there …

There is more to the story than just a couple of overflowing garbage cans or laundry baskets in life … you could actually say that it’s nothing but the tip of the iceberg.

When you look at life in general, many people are of the idea that they will become ‘free’ in life sooner or later and finally be able to ‘make it’. It may not really be true and they may not really understand it either … but that doesn’t stop them from having wild daydreams.

Here is what such an idea of making it sounds like at the back of your mind,

“Once I reach XYZ position in my life, I will be set forever … ”

There are certainly plenty of variations which exist out there, but the underlying idea is going to be pretty much alike … That all one has to do is to reach a certain position in life, after which they can be set forever.

How? … Why? …

It’s the same story which you read a couple of lines ago, about how the trivialities never stop … just on a much grander level in life …

Like this … Time keeps moving forward, meaning that your life will ALSO keep moving forward … which in turn translates to you having to answer THIS interesting existential question, should you achieve your goal of reaching that fantasy wonderland of ‘make-it’ …

“NOW WHAT?”

In other words, you are going to come to the same place where you started out … The situation will be a little ( or completely ) different, but the existential pit will never go away …

I mean, think about it …

You conquer the world … And then what?

Even if you somehow managed to LITERALLY conquer the world, THEN WHAT?

Rule with an iron fist?

What for?

How much power can you possibly accumulate in life before you get sick of it all?

Can you really be proud of your accomplishments in the grander scheme of things? Do you really think that the universe will care if you were the most powerful dictator on earth (a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in a speck in … [ this will probably go on forever … ] … in the universe? )?

What will you do after you conquer the entire planet? Conquer mars? And rule what? The red mud? Or the two moons, Deimos and Phobos? Move on to the entire solar system? Incidentally, is all of this even possible? …

Plus, you do realize that you are not really immortal, right? Or have you forgotten that? Do you honestly think you will live forever?

Sure, the thrill of having accomplished the whole thing will be there to keep you euphoric for a while … but your dopamine high will fade away sooner or later …

After that, you end up being nagged with the …

“Now What?”

… question all over again!

Don’t you realize why some people are never satisfied in life no matter how much they accumulate?

They constantly hoard more and more and more, without ever finding any satisfaction … they hoard money, assets, property, gold, silver, jewels, estates, businesses, shares, control, power, influence, name, fame, prestige …

… and yet are somehow STILL miserable!

How can you honestly have all that and still be miserable in life?

Simple.

The “Now What?!” question will make them keep going “More! More!! Moar!!!” …

That’s how.

They will probably never understand that …

YOU CAN NEVER MAKE IT IN LIFE NO MATTER WHAT!

… aaand probably eventually end up killing themselves in one way or another …

What it all comes down to is that the almost borderline ‘deranged’ obsession to make it in life, is just a fantasy …

The truth is that it is utterly impossible to ‘make it’ in one’s life. It is nothing more than a wild fantasy. The moment you ‘make it’ in life, you are going to end up in an existential crisis, again wondering about the future and what is it that you should be doing …

So in a way, your life will come a full circle even if you manage to ‘make it’ … meaning that you will be right back to where you started, the moment you finally ‘make it’ …

Therefore, be content in life and forget about ‘making it’, no matter how tempting that idea is to you …

If in case you don’t realize this fact …

Well …

KEEP SAYING “MOAR!!!” UNTIL YOUR LAST DAY ON EARTH …

You know, in that sense, you would ‘make it’ I guess … that is, make it to your grave …

Oh well!

It is what you wanted after all! … XD
